Verified Reviewer |Negative experience with new windshield replacement.
Cracked windshield was replaced on 12/1/2023 on WO 31351 however the technician failed to seal the new windshield correctly so water was leaking into the vehicle. I have custom fit floor liners to help collect water and snow that gets tracked into the vehicle and I did notice that I had to empty the water a few times over the winter but assumed it was from snow from our feet.
On 2/21/24 I used a car wash and when I got back into the vehicle there was water on the floor liner and you could see where the water was running down the kick panel and dripping from the park brake area. I assumed the windshield was not sealed properly and that was the source of the water. I called the phone number on your repair receipt but it was not the correct number for your store. No idea why any business would allow the wrong number to be listed on their WO but it still has the wrong number on the WO I got yesterday.
On WO 44099 from 2/23/24, they said they removed the windshield and reinstalled and the water leak should be fixed now. When I dropped the car off, the lady at the front desk said the soaked floor carpet would be taken care of so I assumed that meant it would be dried completely. While the car was there, I called and spoke to Devin and I asked her to feel free to keep the car overnight in their heated facility to aid the drying of carpet/foam backing. They called in about 1.5 hours and said it was ready to be picked up.
I got back home and saw that the carpet had not been dried at all so I pulled up the carpet myself and everything was still soaked with water puddles in low areas of the floor pan. I now have the carpet pulled and fans running. The WO only states possible water leak with no explanation of what was cause of the water leak. I was told that the technician that did the 12/1 repair, used sealant where the sealant had cured in the gun prior to my repair and the cured sealant was not removed by the technician which caused the leak.
Also on the 12/1 repair, the technician failed to properly locate the windshield washer line and with it not being in its correct routing location, it was now possible to be damaged in the hinge of the hood when the hood was opened and closed.
VERY unhappy youre your Miller Road store. They messed up my car and didnt bother to properly clean up the water mess on the drivers floor.
Preferred solution: I would like to not run into poorly run places in the first place.
User's recommendation: May want to try another windshield company.

Verified ReviewerResolved: Damaged hood, when they replaced my windshield
Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with apology. I went through there customers warranty department 888-393-**** and they put me in touch with the regional manager. He arranged for payment, to have the damage to my car repaired.
Both phone calls and emails are currently being ignored by Robert Schenk, Regional manager, Sioux Falls, SD
What I found were about a dozen little chips, in a nice pattern, on my hood and passenger post. Had contact with Regional mgr. Robert Schenk, who agreed to pay for the damage, after he received the 2 quotes they requested. I was told it was sent up to headquarters and then started ignoring all my emails.
Even Safelites customer service is having issues contacting Mr. Schenk. I have been told the damage looks like rock chips, but they were not there before the windshield was replaced. The installer is supposed to take pictures of any damaged he sees, before starting.
None were taken, because there werent, any before he started.
Be sure to inspect your vehicle first, if you ever have Safelite replace your glass. Mine was done at home, inside my garage, with plenty of room to work.
- Communication with customers
Preferred solution: Repairs made to hood and passenger side post
User's recommendation: Check your car closely, before and after any repairs are done.

This letter is for Safelite shop in Union City, CA.
I'm dealing with this company for 2 months for defective glass, and it seems they're just doing turnaround.
When i went to the shop for the third time dealing with them not just they installed a defective glass the work that its been done is sloppy.
Again, I have a mobile appointment for today between 11am to 4pm. No technician showed up.
I called, and they said they reached out, but my wife did not receive a missed call or voice message. The only information my wife received is a text message saying that the appointment is set.
Terrible glass company. I will never do business with this company again.
- No pros
- Terrible communication and bad service
Preferred solution: Full refund
Damage to Car
I had the windshield replaced on a 2023 Honda CRV. When I dropped it off, it was perfectly clean and in good condition, but when I picked it up, it was filthy with dirty boot prints!
I cleaned and cleaned and couldn't get the scratches off of the dash, under the glove box. When I showed them the photos and the damage, they refused to fix this. I didn't think to take photos of the passenger side where I can't get it clean, but do have photos of the dirver's side. A friend went to another shop around the same time, and her car was left cleaner than when it was dropped off.
I would NOT go to the shop on N. College in Fayetteville!
User's recommendation: DO NOT USE THE FAYETTEVILLE SHOP!
Warrenty
They do not intend on doing anything about it.,,
Pueblo Colorado Safelite Glass, not on the list
They messed up windshield glass trim, I asked for a warranty, took the truck in and the manager said it was not their fault and did not do anything. I had to approach them when supposedly the work was done and ask why they did nothing after them telling me the work was done.
Had a discussion with a safelite rep via telephone and they sent an email to a regional and or district rep.
No response and that has been several weeks ago.
What a waste of time. SAFELITE is the worst!!!
One windshield glass trim was installed wrong and messed up the trim, the other worked its way up and the upper lip caught the roof molding on that side and lifted it up.
- No pros
- Disgusting people
Preferred solution: Get the problem fixed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
User's recommendation: Go elsewhere for glass repair

There are large gaps, leaks that are not sealed I contacted them and they said they would get it fixed.

Verified Reviewer |Loss to be covered under warranty
Good evening,
On August 8, 2023, the windshield on my daughter's 2014 Honda Civic was replaced. While at college, my daughter's car is parked in a parking garage on campus.
However, while she was home for Christmas break, her car had electrical problems, which we fixed at a local Firestone Auto Care on January 4th for $570.10. The day before my daughter returned to school, we found that the entire floor of her car was wet. My husband and I used a wet vac to get as much water as possible and told our daughter to take the vehicle to Casey Collision in Newport News for a water test. The result of the test was that the windshield was not properly sealed.
I have a video and pictures to prove this fact. I called Safelite and left many messages for Arnez, a technician supervisor for our area. Since the car needed repair, Casey Collision did the work, costing us $595.00. Both of these costs can be attributed to the incorrect installment of the windshield.
Since there is a lifetime warranty for the work done, I would like to submit a claim for $1,165.10. Please contact me at your earliest convenience regarding this loss.
Thank you in advance for your assistance. {{Redacted}}
- Service at your home
- When you have a problem no one calls you back
Preferred solution: I want to be reimbursed for the cost of the sensor repair, which was due to the water in the dashboard, $570.10 + $595 cost to conduct the water test and remediation to the vehicle. For a total of $1,165.10
User's recommendation: Look at the seal around the window, before letting the installers finish the job.

Verified Reviewer |Appointment
I had a crack in my windshield and needed to travel across state for a work conference. I scheduled the windshield replacement a little more than a week ahead of time so that I would be prepared for safe travel.
Safelites tech showed up for my appointment this morning prepped then removed my windshield. Upon the install of the replacement windshield, it was realized that the incorrect windshield was provided. So the tech had to reinstall the cracked windshield and I was advised that I would need to reschedule the appointment for another day. Because I must leave tonight for work, I had to scramble to find a suitable rental car so I can stay on schedule.
Safelites mistake cost me money because I had to obtain a safe vehicle to travel out of state with.
After all this, I will still need my windshield replaced upon my return. Im highly disappointed and am considering going with a different company for my windshield replacement.

Verified Reviewer |Windshield replacement Issues. My shoe car is worse off after safelite replaced my windshield and damaged my side windshield panels on my convertible and I got no help from the manager. He
Safelite did not put my trim back on correctly. They tell me they are not responsible.
Lousy customer service. Uncaring manager He did not want to Listen to my issue. Took to another glass service just to get an assessment. No work done.
They found double sided tape that was used to try and hold my trim down. This is ridiculous and a crap job for a reputable company I will give negative reviews now every time I get a chance For now Safelite SUCKS
- Do not care if you have a problem with their install
Preferred solution: Pay to fix my car the way it is supposed to be. My quote to fix the damage is $646.76 minus $188.00 that I was told about for the cowl grill

Verified Reviewer |Wiper blades fell off.
I would give a review to Saftlite a 3 out of five, now I see why they do not allow reviews. Leadership at the corporate level needs to look at Safelites poor policies.
I just got a new window in my 2022 Jeep Gladiator. They put new wiper blades on too. Was satisfied with their service and the nice employees. They put my State Park passes back in the window, literally 3.5 inches from the side of the window in my driving view.
There are two of the stickers and they were not put on straight or in line with each other. Really? Then driving home half way into my 110 mile drive, at 55 miles an hour my drivers side wiper flys off in a pouring rain. The speed limit was 65 and I had to turn around looking for the wiper blade with no wipers.
I got out of my Jeep walking in the snow and still could not find the blade. So, I called the phone number provided to see what Safetelite would recommend I do. Two calls and no return. I sat along the side of the road for 30 minutes as I could not see in the down pouring rain.
When the rain let up I drove at 40 mph for 15 miles to a Jeep dealership, where I purchased a new blade.
When I got home I tried to call Safelite and talk to a human, next to impossible. I finally got ahold of some one at the national corporate offices. After a fifteen minute wait on hold I was transferred to the store manager in Boise, Idaho where I purchased the new window and wiper blades. The manager said their policy is to only put the installers cell phone on the bill and paperwork.
Well how well is that working?
I got no return.
The manager said if I had called the 800 number I would have not done anything but sit in the loop.
So instead they give the installer cell phone.
When asked why they do not give their local land line number I got the same response.
After the phone discussion was finished the manager gave me the local land line number incase I had any more issues.
LMAO. Why was I never given the local land line number before I walked out of the store?
- Good service
- Poor wiper instillation

On 2/17 i had an appointment for a veey small, hardly visible spot. I drove around with it for 2 weeks with NO change.
I dropped it off. Got a text and a phone call that it was completed after 1.5 hours. Noone said anything. In fact, i was paying for my windshield wipers and someone came from the back and said oh we couldnt do it, filling it out would have caused more damage.
Now that hardly visible crack is bigger and deeper. It was the size of my pinky finger tip, now its a quarter. I called the manager, and he said a crack can spread at any time. Noone took responsibility for making the crack bigger and worse so that now the windshield needs tobe completely replaced.
This is the responsibility of the shop and technician. Further, no one contacted me and how it was handled makes me further believe they knew they were responsible. I would like a winfshield replaced at no charge. Im upset that i need a new windshield.
A friend was there 2x before, including the day before i brought mine in and received horrible service as well. That should have been my warning to go elsewhere. His name is Kevin Rowland.
No communication and no service. Very disappointing.
Preferred solution: Full refund

Happens often. Not just to Safelite.
The same model vehicle can easily have several different windshield and rear window variations. Perhaps someone at the distributorship got it wrong. You don't have enough facts to accuse anyone in particular.
How long did you drive with an illegal windshield before you called them since it was your important trip that precipitated your call ? It's always someone else's fault, isn't it ?
Uhm. Who asked you?
I was asked to leave a review about my experience so I did. No one said it was “just Safelite”. But the review was in regards to SAFELITE.
You didn’t have to like what I wrote, nor was ya opinion warranted. Thanks.
