I used Safelite at the Fairless Hills, PA location to replace my windshield, paid for by my Erie auto insurance. Safelite said they would check the VIN and replace it with the same type.

I agreed to have them do the replacement outside because of my long work hours. The tech was okay, BUT there was the most horrific wind noise over about 40 mph. The same tech came back and re-did the same windshield with some kind of foam, which made the loud whistling worse, especially with any crosswind on the highway and always over 30-35 mph. I called and really complained and insisted that this time I wanted the original windshield ***with the sun shading*** like I was supposed to get the first time.

I was told that having it done outside again was exactly the same as having it done inside at their facility. So now I had the sun shading AND I still had the loud whistling/wind noise, which has been super annoying and distracting, especially in traffic or on an unfamiliar road. One of their techs told me that they try to get you to schedule the repair outside because they are too busy at the facility but that they DO have air hoses etc at the facility and can do a much better job and would do a test drive. So I was beyond disgusted all the way around with this company and would never have recommended them to anyone.

I informed my insurance company of my experiences, but they wanted me to try Safelite again. So today I went to the facility, waited two hours for the FOURTH reinstallation, and when I asked if I was given the same type of sun-shaded windshield, I was told yes. BUT it is not the same ... and I STILL have the whistling.

I asked the guy if they did a test drive, and he said no. So now the molding at the bottom of the windshield is all damaged and completely missing in places also (I took photos of every surface of the whole windshield before I went inside today). And they've ripped it out four times now, so I am, rightfully, concerned they have damaged my car. I called my insurance company's glass repair department and demanded that I be able to use a different company, but they transferred me to a different Safelite location, and when I said I am demanding a refund to my insurance company so I can get this fixed by someone who knows what they are doing, I was told I would have to call the Fairless Hills location to speak to the manager or assistant manager, Donna or Steve.

And, of course, I called and was told they are not available. I have filed a formal complaint with the Better Business Bureau, and now I see this company has a huge number of complaints and negative reviews.

Really, do not use them!!! I will update this review when I get the money refunded and go to a different glass repair company.

Reason of review: Damaged or defective.

Monetary Loss: $100.

Preferred solution: Full refund to Erie insurance so I can go elsewhere, plus money to replace damaged moldings, + AN APOLOGY. .

Safelite Autoglass Pros: First outside technician was friendly.

Safelite Autoglass Cons: Worst consumer experience i have ever had.

Location: 131 Lincoln Hwy, Fairless Hills, PA 19030, USA
